Mark NeJame was born in Orlando, Florida. In 1976, he received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Florida and graduated with his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida, College of Law, in 1980. He was admitted to the Florida Bar the same year. He has been admitted to multiple courts throughout Florida and has practiced in numerous states and districts throughout the United States and the Caribbean. Although most of his cases are in Central Florida and throughout the State of Florida, he has represented clients and handled cases in Georgia, Texas, Massachusetts, California, New York, Virgin Islands, New Jersey, Michigan, North Carolina and Virginia. He routinely practices in both State and Federal courts. He is the principal, Senior Partner and founder of NeJame Law a/k/a NeJame, LaFay, Jancha, Ahmed, Barker, Joshi & Moreno, P.A.
Mark NeJame has primarily devoted his entire career as a litigation attorney. His reputation has been achieved by being a passionate and skilled trial lawyer and negotiator for his 30 year career. Mark has handled literally thousands of cases in his career. Being the Founder and Senior Partner of NeJame, LaFay, Jancha, Ahmed, Barker, Joshi and Moreno, P.A., Mark is driven in making certain that his Firm and its team of trial attorneys provide creative, aggressive and compassionate representation in seeking the best results on behalf of its clients. Mark routinely represents clients in significant or complex criminal defense, civil/business litigation, personal injury and immigration related matters.
Having been an entrepreneur for most of his adult life, Mark has been involved in a variety of successful business interests, projects and investments. Liking to believe his real world experiences in business allows him to have a pragmatic and real understanding of people and business, Mark likes to believe that as a lawyer he is more of a "deal maker and not a deal breaker" as so many lawyers have been accused. Having a great passion for helping others in legal trouble as well as those in need outside the legal arena, Mark has been involved in multiple political, civic and charitable organizations and activities for decades. He has chaired a variety of charities including The Heart Fund Ball, Shepard's Hope and Fashion Funds the Cure. Significantly, Mark along with his wife Josie, founded Runway to Hope in 2011, a charity benefitting children with pediatric cancer. Having been successful in having two competing hospitals, Florida Hospital for Children and Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital, to work together for the first time towards the cause of defeating and curing childhood cancer, Runway to Hope has fast become one of Central Florida's premier charities. Having raised over $500,000 in its first year, Runway to Hope was been awarded The National Philanthropic Society's Fundraiser of the Year in its inaugural year. A $1,000,000 pledge was made to Florida Hospital and another $1,000,000 to Arnold Palmer Hospital, with all funds directed to each hospital's pediatric cancer clinics. In addition, Runway to Hope, raises and provides money to the families of children with cancer who have emergency family needs such as rent, utilities, food and transportation as well as matters to make a child's life easier and more happy.
Mark's background as a renowned trial attorney has been recognized by numerous organizations. He is a lecturer and frequent guest speaker and legal commentator. He has been a featured speaker for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the National Association of Black Narcotics Officers, various Drug Enforcement agencies and numerous other Law Enforcement Groups. Mark NeJame is the Past President of the Central Florida Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and has been recognized in the Bar Register of Preeminent Attorneys, which acknowledges but a small number of the leading lawyers in the United States. He is also AV rated, the highest possible rating given by Martindale Hubbell, the nation's leading lawyer rating publication. The prestigious Florida Trend Magazine has listed him among Florida's Legal Elite. He has been the subject of numerous newspaper and magazine articles being featured or recognized as Orlando's Best Attorneys, "The Power Worthy", " Orlando's Own Johnny Cochran", "Defender is a Contender", "Orlando Power Couple", "Orlando's 50 Most Powerful People" and the "Voice for the Voiceless". Although most of Mark's cases involve regular people and their families who find themselves in some difficulty with the law, Mark has handled numerous high profile and celebrated cases involving lawyers, judges, professionals, doctors, celebrities, athletes, politicians, law enforcement officials and renowned business people. He appears regularly as a commentator or expert on numerous television, radio and print media. He is sought out as an expert legal commentator and analyst having made appearances and been interviewed on CNN, The Today Show, The CBS Morning Show, The Dr. Drew Show, CNN Headline News (HLN), The Nancy Grace Show, The Dr. Phil Show, Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell, MSNBC, Vinnie Politan on HLN, Geraldo Rivera, The Joy Behar Show, In Sessions Court TV, Studio B with Shepard Smith, Inside Edition, Greta van Susteren, Court TV, and on a variety of ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox national and local news segments and outlets. Mark is a firm believer that in this day and age, knowing when to utilize and when not to utilize the media can profoundly impact a case or client.
